Development of Daily Living and Life Skills
Capacity building is different from doing a task for someone. This service focuses on learning, practising and strengthening everyday skills in ways that are relevant to the participant's own life.
The Service
Learning, practising and strengthening everyday skills.
This service focuses on everyday skills in ways that are relevant to the participant's own life.
Included Support
What this service can include
Skills are practised through relevant real-life situations.
01
Building routines for personal organisation and daily living.
02
Practising meal planning, shopping or household skills where appropriate.
03
Developing confidence using community facilities and everyday services.
04
Building communication, planning, time-management and problem-solving strategies.
05
Learning practical steps for greater independence in daily routines.
06
Repetition and coaching in real-life settings so skills can become more familiar and sustainable.
How We Approach It
Practical skills, achievable steps.
We identify a practical skill, establish the participant's current level of
confidence, break the skill into achievable steps and provide opportunities
to practise. Assistance can be adjusted as capability develops.
Who This May Suit
Build or maintain practical skills.
Participants who want to build or maintain practical daily living skills and increase independence in areas relevant to their NDIS goals.
Quality, Safety & Accountability
Progress is individual.
Progress is individual. We do not promise independence within a fixed
